ACUNE Disclaimer

The ACUNE GeoTool system, which includes probabilistic coastal inundation maps and other products, is produced by researchers at the University of Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Miami, and USGS, with funding from NOAA. Dr. Peter Sheng served as the Principal Investigator of the project and Dr. Vladimir Paramygin developed the ACUNE GeoTool.

While the products contained in the GeoTool were developed with the best available sciences, it is subject to change in the future. This system is provided (at no cost) as additional reference information to Collier County, City of Naples, RBNERR, Ten Thousand Island National Wildlife Refugee, South Florida Water Management District, etc. in Southwest Florida to enhance their planning activity.

Use of any flood maps from the ACUNE tool for any publication, including thesis, project report, newspaper article, or journal paper require the prior written consent of Dr. Peter Sheng and appropriate credit and reference.

ACUNE GeoTool is not meant to replace the flood insurance rate maps of FEMA nor the official storm surge forecast of National Hurricane Center. Users of this system assume full legal responsibility when using information provided by the system. Furthermore, the users of this system agree not to share the information produced by the system, publish any products in any form, distribute the products to the media, or use the products for any profit-making purposes. Please contact Peter Sheng (pete@coastal.ufl.edu) or Vladimir Paramygin (pva@coastal.ufl.edu) for further information.
